News Website Staff Stabbed; Police Clarifies Incident
Hours ago, one of the news websites reported that an extraordinary incident occurred during a gathering of supporters of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Specifically, it was stated that a staff member of "Para TV" was stabbed during the rally.
The police have clarified that this information does not correspond to reality. Through measures taken by the Central Division of the police, it has been established that the mentioned staff member sustained injuries near building 24A on Saryan Street in Yerevan, where a dispute over household matters occurred between him and a 31-year-old man living in the capital.
During this altercation, the 31-year-old man inflicted wounds using a sharp cutting object on the staff member of the aforementioned news site and another person accompanying him. Both individuals were transported to a medical facility.
The identity of the person who caused the injuries is known to the criminal investigators of the Central Division, and they are taking appropriate measures to locate the suspect and clarify all circumstances of the incident. Investigative materials are being prepared in the police investigation department of the Central Division.
"We urge the media not to disseminate unverified information," the statement says.
It is reminded that yesterday, on May 25, information was circulated that the sound operator of "Para TV" was stabbed during Pashinyan's supporters rally.
