Alarm to Authorities: Owl Chicks Being Sold on Facebook

A Facebook user, Ashot Harutyunyan, has shared a post on his page alerting authorities about a listing in the social media group's "I Sell, I Buy." The post, made by a user named Mher Aghajanyan, offers wild bird owl chicks for sale.

"Owls are not domestic animals. Especially as chicks, they need to stay under the care of the mother owl. The predatory bird has the perfect hunting method and must live in nature for its future life," Harutyunyan stated in his alert.

In the announcement, the citizen has not only posted photographs of the captured and caged animals but also provided his phone number for potential buyers.
