CNN Calls Scandal Involving Mkhitaryan a Shame, Proposes Boycott of Arsenal and Chelsea Matches
American news network CNN has proposed that English clubs Arsenal and Chelsea boycott matches scheduled in Baku for the Europa League.
According to the network, the situation surrounding Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a disgrace for the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
CNN criticized UEFA's decision to host such a major football event in the capital of Azerbaijan, pointing out that the stadium, which can accommodate 69,870 spectators, allows only 6,000 fans from each team to attend. Furthermore, individuals from certain nationalities do not feel safe in the country, and their entry is often denied.
The network noted that a globally recognized superstar will not participate in such a significant final match merely because of the country he was born in.
CNN emphasized that if Arsenal were to lose, the question would always arise as to whether that would have happened if Mkhitaryan had been on the pitch.
