Two Deputy Governors Dismissed from Office. Who Will Be Next? - Fact
The newspaper "Fact" reports: "Recently, the official website of the government announced that by the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, two deputy governors of the Ararat region have been dismissed from their positions. Before coming to power, the Prime Minister and his associates constantly criticized the territorial governance bodies for not justifying themselves, emphasizing that there are serious and deep issues that need to be addressed, particularly targeting the deputy governors, claiming that they are, in fact, doing nothing, and that these positions need to be eliminated.
However, it has already been a year since the change of power, and no concrete actions have been taken by the authorities regarding this sector. The recent dismissals are particularly interesting in that the governor of Ararat continuously finds himself in ridiculous and incomprehensible situations but continues to serve in his position.
We have often mentioned that governors are the weakest and most risky personnel of this government. There are reports that changes in the leadership of the governor’s offices will continue, and in this context, it is interesting to see who will be next.
It is not ruled out that the total changes initiated in the governors' offices might also affect the Aragatsotn region, especially after the release of a video showing the governor Davit Gevorgyan trampling the Russian flag. Following this incident, Armenia faces the challenge of showing Russia that he was not specifically appointed as governor. Such videos appeared online some time after his appointment, and the authorities may not have been aware of his participation in such an act.
