71-Year-Old Resident of Armavir Region to Stand Trial for Cannabis Cultivation
The preliminary investigation into the criminal case regarding the illegal cultivation and possession of large quantities of prohibited poisonous plants has been completed at the Vagharshapat investigative division of the Armavir regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee. Charges have been brought against a resident of the Armavir region, as reported by the Committee's press service.
According to the data obtained during the investigation, the resident of the Armavir region, born in 1948, cultivated and cared for a total of 127 cannabis plants, weighing 13.500 grams, in the greenhouse adjacent to his house during the summer of 2018.
In addition, the 71-year-old man illegally obtained a significant quantity of cannabis, totaling 1950 grams, for his own use from the plants he cultivated, which he kept illegally in the left side of the greenhouse on the grass.
Based on the accumulated evidence, charges have been filed against the 71-year-old resident of Armavir under the 2nd part of Article 273 and Article 268, part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. A signature not to leave has been applied as a measure of restraint.
The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
