Armed Robbery in Aragatsotn Province: One Arrested

Investigations are underway at the Aragatsotn Provincial Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to clarify the circumstances of an armed robbery against a citizen in Aragatsotn Province. One person has been arrested.

On May 20, 2019, at around 00:15, a resident of Alaverdi reported to the police that on May 19, 2019, around 23:00, an unknown individual transported him from the 3rd district of Yerevan to Aragatsotn Province, threatening him with a knife and stealing his "Xiaomi" model mobile phone, a wristwatch, money, and fled the scene, causing significant property damage.

A criminal case has been initiated at the Aragatsotn Provincial Investigative Department based on Article 175, Part 2, Clause 4 of the RA Criminal Code regarding the incident. The resident of Alaverdi has been recognized as the victim.

As a result of several investigative actions and operational-search measures undertaken in the criminal case, several circumstances of the incident have been clarified, including the identity of the person who committed the apparent crime, who is a resident of Aragatsotn Province born in 1991. He has been located and arrested on suspicion of robbery.

During the personal search, the stolen mobile phone, wristwatch, and money were discovered.

The preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are being taken to clarify all circumstances of the incident.
