Threats Made Against Garnik Isagulyan and His Family Members
“Around 3 AM yesterday, I received threatening phone calls from various numbers directed at me and my family,” said Garnik Isagulyan, advisor to the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Artsakh in Armenia, in an interview with Tert.am.
“They called claiming to be from the Chief Prosecutor's office, warning me not to dare speak critically about Artur Davtyan. Earlier during a press conference, I had remarked that the Chief Prosecutor’s gaze, while observing the three presidents of Artsakh in court, was a ‘Safarov-style’ stare. I mentioned that the Chief Prosecutor is Turkish-influenced, especially if he insists on the issue of detention after the guarantees from the presidents,” emphasized Garnik Isagulyan.
He indicated that after the calls, he reported the matter to the police and attempted to reach the National Security Service, but received no response from the reception.
Garnik Isagulyan stated that the police found that one of the phone numbers belonged to a woman, who had been asked by unknown individuals to make the call.
According to the police's public relations and information department, at 03:35 AM, Garnik Isagulyan called the police, provided the phone number, and reported that he had been threatened from that number.
“An investigation is currently underway,” police emphasized.
