Protesters Against Kocharian Attempted to Tug at Hrant Margaryan Walking with Grandchildren

A confrontation occurred at Freedom Square between protesters opposing the court decision to release former President Robert Kocharian from detention and Hrant Margaryan, an Armenian Revolutionary Federation member.

Participants in the rally, upon seeing Hrant Margaryan walking with his grandchildren at Freedom Square, began chanting "da-va-chan" and then attempted to approach him in a group, tugging at him.

Police intervened, separating the parties and preventing the protesters from getting close to the political figure.

Earlier in the day, protesters opposed to the court decision temporarily blocked Mashtots Avenue before marching towards Freedom Square.
