Earthquake Recorded in Spitak City

On May 18, 2023, at 17:01 local time (13:01 GMT), the seismic network of the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations registered an earthquake at geographical coordinates of 40.840 degrees north latitude and 44.300 degrees east longitude (3 km northeast of Spitak, Armenia), with a depth of 10 km and a magnitude of 2.2.

The intensity of the underground tremor at the epicenter was assessed to be 2-3 degrees.
