New Director Appointed to the Youth Theatre
Emine Torosyan has been appointed as the director of the Youth Theatre, as announced by the theatre's press service.
It is noted that during a meeting held on May 17, Yerevan Deputy Mayor Tigran Virabyan stated that Emine Torosyan was appointed as the theatre director by the mayor's decision, after two candidates surpassed the competition threshold announced for the director's position.
“The appointment is for one year, and we are confident that Mr. Torosyan's programs will be implemented. The extension of the contract and further service should be earned by any leader through their work. We have discussed a number of projects, some of which are still in the discussion phase. We need to conduct a proper programming policy and make changes that will ensure the Youth Theatre is among the best in Yerevan,” said Tigran Virabyan.
Emine Torosyan, for his part, expressed gratitude to the Yerevan municipality for their trust, stating, “During the months I served as the acting director of the theatre, I had the opportunity to familiarize myself with the issues from the inside and outline a path for their resolution, which we are already moving forward with. Yes, I believe that one year is the ideal timeframe for manifesting and advancing development. I am confident that our team can solve these problems and implement new projects,” the statement noted.
