Bako Sahakyan Infuriated by Vitaly Balasanyan's Actions

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that the recent criticisms directed at Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan by Artsakh's Security Council Secretary Vitaly Balasanyan have sparked intense discussions in Artsakh. According to reports from "Zhoghovurd," Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan has recently expressed strong anger towards Balasanyan.

Sahakyan stated that his relations with Nikol Pashinyan are very good, and they "share bread" with each other, while Balasanyan's behavior is simply ruining those relationships and negatively affecting the relations between Armenia and Artsakh.

In other words, Balasanyan's recent actions are a result of self-initiative and not a reflection of the views of the authorities in Karabakh.

Balasanyan has submitted a candidacy for the presidential elections in Artsakh, and there is a persistent viewpoint that he is actually conducting his electoral campaign in this manner. It is not a coincidence that recently, during a joint press conference with a delegation from the Artsakh parliament, Armenian National Assembly President Ararat Mirzoyan stated that the statements made in front of cameras must align with those made off-camera.

In any case, we tried to confirm the information with Balasanyan himself, but he left our calls unanswered. Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the president of Nagorno-Karabakh, Davit Babayan, did not confirm nor deny the conversation between Bako Sahakyan and Vitaly Balasanyan during an interview with "Zhoghovurd," avoiding a clear answer to the question. He emphasized that they have always been in favor of statements that do not escalate tensions.
