Unemployment Rate in Armenia Revealed by Avinyan
As of the end of 2018, the unemployment rate in Armenia stands at approximately 20 percent. This was stated today by First Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan during a government session.
He added that an inter-agency commission has developed a program based on three pillars. The first is the development of human capital, the second is the promotion of employment, and the third is institutional reforms. Specific targets and timelines will be set for each of these three directions.
“I ask the ministries that have specific measures under this program to set their targets and timelines by June 15, as the measures are fully prepared. It remains to specify the precise targets—the specific numerical results expected—as well as the timelines we will follow,” Avinyan stated.
