Summer Draft to Take Place from May to July
Guided by Article 19, Part 4 and Article 25, Part 1 of the Law on "Military Service and Status of Servicemen" and Article 6, Part 1 of the Law on "Alternative Service," the Government has decided to declare the summer draft of 2019 for male citizens of the Republic of Armenia who turn 18 by June 30, 2019, inclusive, as well as those whose deferment from mandatory military service will expire by June 30, 2019, inclusive.
2. Within the framework of the summer draft of 2019, servicemen who have completed mandatory military or alternative service within the legally established timeframe will be discharged by July 31, 2019, inclusive.
3. Personnel who have completed alternative service will be released within the established timeframe.
4. To organize the summer draft of 2019, a republican draft commission will be created in accordance with Appendix N 1, as well as regional (Yerevan city) draft commissions in accordance with Appendix N 2.
5. The composition of the central medical commission will be approved according to Appendix N 3. The data of citizens of the Republic of Armenia who evade the summer draft of 2019 will be sent to the relevant structural units of the Police, and after the drafting process, the materials prepared about them will be sent to the relevant garrison investigation divisions of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. The Prosecutor General has been proposed to continue organizing works related to initiating criminal proceedings against citizens of the Republic of Armenia who evade the draft, as well as overseeing the legality of pre-trial criminal proceedings of this nature.
