Ministry of Education Under Siege from Parents: "Haykakan Zhamanak"

"Haykakan Zhamanak" reports: "Yesterday, the online registration mechanism for first graders was launched. It started at 9 AM, and the Educational Technologies Institute that implemented the system, along with the Ministry of Education, found themselves under siege from parents because the system did not operate smoothly—there were disruptions and a significant surge, as there were fights over registration in some schools.

In those schools, the necessary number of first graders was registered within minutes, and those who were late will have to choose other schools. We learned that alongside traditional 'prestige' schools such as Pushkin, Chekhov, and Nikol Aghbalian, there are also other schools where there are no spots left—Yerevan School No. 130, 171, Shant's School, Abovyan City School No. 2, and School No. 20. Experts believe that the most effective system was the Soviet one, which allocated schools based on the territory assigned to each school."
