As photographer Gagik Shamshyan reports, on May 15, a report was received by the Aparan Police stating that on May 12, around 16:00, 19-year-old Gevorg Sargsyan, a conscript soldier in short-term leave from the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, was called by 39-year-old Karen Yeghiazaryan, a resident of Aparan, and his brother, 41-year-old Haik Yeghiazaryan, a resident of Yerevan, to the "Gntunik" supermarket located at 45 M. Baghramyan Street in Aparan, where he was assaulted and accused of stealing 5 million 400 thousand AMD from the supermarket.
According to the photographer, G. Sargsyan was summoned to the Aparan Police station, where he reported that K. Yeghiazaryan had beaten him, while H. Yeghiazaryan threatened him and demanded that he return the stated amount within half an hour. K. and H. Yeghiazaryan also threatened him, stating that if he informed anyone about the incident, including the police, he would be held accountable.
According to the photographer, later that evening, 18-year-old P. T. from Aparan called the manager of the "Gntunik" supermarket, 25-year-old Tigran Harutyunyan, and invited him to the supermarket, where H. and K. Yeghiazaryan again insisted that the stated amount was missing from the supermarket's cash register. Afterward, as reported by the informant, H. and K. Yeghiazaryan physically assaulted G. Sargsyan again, demanding that he return the money.
