Warning to Travelers Heading to Egypt. Ministry of Health
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia informs citizens traveling to Egypt that there are specific regulations set by the Egyptian government for carrying personal medications.
The entry of narcotics, psychoactive (psychotropic) drugs, and their precursors is strictly prohibited in Egypt. Meanwhile, permissions are required for certain medications, and it is mandatory that the primary packaging is intact and clearly displays the composition of the drug.
Upon entry into the country, any personal medication is subject to inspection by the Egyptian customs inspectors.
At the same time, most of the medications currently in use are available in pharmacies and medical establishments in Egypt.
