Lawsuit Filed Against TV Host Who Converted Armenian Teen to Islam Live on Air

The Human Rights Association of Turkey (İHD) has announced that on May 11, they will file a lawsuit against Nihat Hatipoğlu, the TV host who converted an Armenian teenager named Arthur to Islam during a broadcast on ATV.

This information was reported by ermenihaber.am.

The child's mother contacted Armenian MP Karo Paylan and stated that she did not give her consent for the conversion and that everything happened without her knowledge. Meanwhile, the host claimed that he had obtained consent from Arthur's parents.

Karo Paylan has expressed his intention to file a lawsuit against Nihat Hatipoğlu and has added that he will provide the text of the announcement to the media.

It is worth noting that the 13-year-old Armenian boy Arthur, who lives in Turkey, converted to Islam live on air. The boy also changed his name to the Turkish name “Nihat.” This conversion occurred during a show with a high promotional nature hosted by the well-known Turkish theologian Nihat Hatipoğlu. The event sparked a strong reaction within both Armenian and Turkish circles.
