Direct Flights with China Discussed

The Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia, Hakob Arshakyan, who is part of the delegation led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, met with the Minister of Transport of China, Li Xiaopeng, during his visit to China. This was reported by the press service of the ministry.

Li Xiaopeng presented to Hakob Arshakyan the ongoing activities aimed at developing transportation infrastructure in China and expressed readiness to collaborate in several areas.

Thanking for the reception, Minister Hakob Arshakyan introduced Armenia's road construction programs, particularly highlighting the construction of the "North-South Road Corridor." He also mentioned that he had met with the leadership of China Railway Group, expressing their interest in Armenia's road construction programs and their willingness to participate in the investments planned for the North-South Road Corridor's construction works.

The minister emphasized the strategic importance of the North-South Corridor for the region and Armenia, as well as its relevance as part of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed direct flights between China and Armenia, the issue of liberalizing permits for international transit cargo transportation through Armenia to China, and the necessity of having an appropriate agreement to activate cargo transportation between the two countries. The possibilities for involving Chinese organizations in Armenia's road construction programs were also discussed.

The parties positively assessed the effectiveness of the meeting, noting that it would contribute to the activation of the activities between the ministries of the two countries and strengthen collaborative ties.
