Director of National Center for Tuberculosis Control Released After Misconduct

According to information obtained by Hraparak, the director of the State Non-Commercial Organization, Armen Hayrapetyan, has been released.

Recall that on July 23, 2018, materials were received at the Kotayk division of the RA Police based on a letter addressed by RA Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan to the Chief of Police, regarding the results of an audit conducted at the National Center for Tuberculosis Control that revealed numerous abuses by former employees who were officials of the organization.

As a result of extensive investigative and procedural measures, a number of abuses came to light, and the identities, timelines, and mechanisms of individuals who allegedly committed financial abuses were established.

The investigation revealed that these abuses occurred during the period from 2014 to 2018.

Based on the combination of evidence obtained, charges were brought against the director of the organization, Armen Hayrapetyan, under parts 1 and 2 of Article 308, part 1 of Article 315, and part 3, point 1 of Article 179 of the RA Criminal Code. Detention was selected as a precautionary measure against him.
