New Social Housing to Be Constructed in Gyumri
The ARDA charitable foundation will construct new social housing in Gyumri. This is the third phase of the program, with the memorandum marking its launch signed on May 10 by Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan and ARDA Foundation Director Hrahat Stepanyan, as reported by Armenpress.
This phase aims to build a building with 18 apartments, of which 14 will be one-bedroom and 4 will be two-bedroom. The total cost of the project amounts to 197 million 412 thousand drams, with 15 percent allocated from the Gyumri city budget. Both the design and improvement works will be carried out by the city hall. The works will commence immediately and are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
“As we did last year, this year we also expect that the works will be completed by the end of the year. I would like to thank the benefactors, especially from Pasadena, who stand by the city of Gyumri and because of whom we are implementing this program for the third time,” noted Gyumri Mayor Samvel Balasanyan in his speech.
Hrahat Stepanyan, the director of the ARDA charitable foundation, also mentioned that this is one of the charity organization's most successful programs. “This program could not have been realized without mutual trust with the city hall. By the way, this can be seen as the start of more serious investment projects, as the benefactor is willing to implement more serious initiatives,” added Stepanyan.
With the support of ARDA, 11 apartments were commissioned in Gyumri in 2017, and another 12 apartments were commissioned in 2018.
