Medicinal Intervention Led to Patient Complaints: Ministry of Health
Patients have been diagnosed with post-surgical infectious damage. They have undergone surgery. This was recently reported by Alina Nikoghosyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia, on her Facebook page.
In her post, she adds:
“A medicinal intervention was carried out, after which patients complained. The causal relationships have been clarified.”
The claim of loss of vision has been denied.
The Ministry of Health is aware of the incident that occurred at the Malayan Eye Center. Following the instruction of Minister Arsen Torosyan, Deputy Levon Hakobyan visited the center to assess the situation firsthand. He met with one of the patients and spoke with the attending physician and head of the department, both of whom denied the fact of blindness.
It should be noted that the number of patients is not eight but six. They have received the necessary medical assistance and there is no threat to their health. Experts from the Medicines Expert Center and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention have also visited the center to investigate the details.
A request has been made to promptly present the results, and a report on the incident has been requested from the center.
