Discover: Car Owners in Tavush Region Express Discontent Over Gas Prices and Charging Quality

Car owners in the border region of Tavush who use gas continue to express dissatisfaction with gas prices and the quality of vehicle refueling. In the Ijevan area, some gas stations sell gas at 220 drams per cubic meter, while in the Noyemberyan region, it is sold for 200 drams. In the Gegharkunik region, gas prices in the Tsovagyugh area are set at 190 drams per cubic meter. The gas pressure for vehicles being refueled at the gas stations in Tsovagyugh is 250, whereas in Tavush, it is 220; however, after refueling, the pressure quickly drops from 220 to 160.

Taxi drivers operating the Noyemberyan-Yerevan-Noyemberyan route constantly refuel their vehicles at the gas stations in Tsovagyugh. In an interview with the “Zhoghovurd” newspaper, they stated that if the quality of refueling at the Tsovagyugh gas stations were not adequate, they would not be able to transport a passenger from Noyemberyan to Yerevan for 3,000 drams. For years, drivers in the Tavush region have complained about vehicles being underfilled at gas stations bordering Azerbaijan; however, state regulatory organizations have not taken necessary measures to uncover or document these issues for them to be addressed in the future.
