Why School Principals in Lori Marz Did Not Participate in Citizen's Day Celebration; Explanations Requested

School principals in Lori Marz have been contacted by employees of the Lori Regional Administration's Department of Education, Sports, and Culture, requesting explanations for their absence from the large-scale celebration of 'Citizen's Day'. This was reported by 'Lori' television, which received a letter from the school principals.

The letter states, in particular:

“Dear Editorial Team, the majority of school principals did not attend the large-scale events dedicated to 'Citizen's Day' in Vanadzor. Some of us believed that this day is also ours and managed it as we saw fit. This would be considered normal if employees of the Lori Regional Administration's Department of Education, Sports, and Culture had not called and demanded clarifications from the school principals regarding their absence from the large-scale celebration.

It turns out that in our region, no situation has changed; previously, authorities compelled participation in such events, and now they continue to exert pressure, demanding explanations from the directors under their jurisdiction, in this case, from us. This raises the question: is it impossible to avoid pressure and coercion? Why is the work of principals not only monitored by superiors but also scrutinized on a festive day?

After all, 'Citizen's Day' is a celebration for a country that has dignified citizens.”
