Director of Spayka Company David Ghazaryan's Detention Measures Changed: 1 Billion AMD Paid
The grounds for keeping David Ghazaryan, the director of Spayka Company, in detention have been lifted. This was reported by the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.
“Considering the fact that the grounds for keeping the director of Spayka Company, David Ghazaryan, in detention have been eliminated, as well as the payment of 1 billion AMD to a unified account within the framework of the criminal case, the prosecutor overseeing the preliminary investigation has made a decision to change the measure of restraint,” the SRC stated in a press release.
It should be noted that on the evening of April 4, it became known that a criminal case had been initiated against David Ghazaryan, the director of Spayka Company.
According to the accusations presented by the investigative body of the SRC, during the period from January 1, 2015, to January 11, 2016, Spayka Company concealed tax liabilities on imported goods to Armenia by falsifying information submitted to customs authorities under the name of Greenproduct LLC, which served as the basis for tax, duty, and other mandatory fee calculations. As a result, according to the SRC, Spayka did not pay 7,036,666,312 AMD in customs duties and taxes to the state budget.
On April 8, the general jurisdiction court applied a measure of restraint in the form of detention for David Ghazaryan, the founder and director of Spayka Company.
