During a press conference today, Tigran Hovhannisyan, the President of the League of Drivers Protection, discussed the new status of car importers that has arisen from changes in the tax code. According to the expert, car prices have skyrocketed by up to 5-6 times.

“As we approach 2020, everyone is engaged in selling cars. If you go to the car market, you will notice that it starts from the Erebuni Museum and stretches to the Erebuni Medical Center. There is no peripheral area, and cars are parked everywhere—in owners' territories and on the streets. The trade in automobiles is boiling. But we need to understand who the car importers are. They need to be distinguished. They need to be licensed, and when selling cars, they must provide citizens with guarantees. The warranty is the most important thing when you are buying a car and understanding from whom you are purchasing it. We involve the population; let them engage in car trading, but they should not have the privileged conditions that those operating in the tax field will have,” Tigran Hovhannisyan stated.
