Major Accident in Aragatsotn Region: Ambulance Carrying Patient Overturned, 5 Injured
On May 2, a serious traffic accident occurred in the Aragatsotn region. At approximately 18:00, two vehicles collided on the 63rd km of the Yerevan-Vanadzor highway: a JIN BEY model with license plate 608 OC 61 and a Nissan Note driven by 48-year-old Satenik Dadayan with license plate 35 AG 312, reports shamshyan.com.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, five individuals who were inside the ambulance sustained injuries and were transported to the Aparan Medical Center. The emergency situation response team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived at the scene with one fire and rescue unit. Citizens were the first to assist the injured.
Representatives from the traffic police's 2nd company of the 2nd battalion, led by platoon commander Grant Galstyan, also arrived at the scene. Yervand Aleksanyan, the responsible duty officer of the Traffic Police's operational management center 1-77, relayed information about the incident to the Aparan police department, from where an operational group arrived, headed by a community police inspector.
The police and investigative department are working to determine the identity of the ambulance driver and the injured persons. Witnesses at the scene mentioned that the ambulance was transporting a critically ill patient from the Aparan hospital when the accident occurred, and they noted that one of the main causes of the accident was the presence of potholes along the road.
