MP Sergey Bagratyan Denies Being Present at Incident in Yeghegnadzor; Photo Released

A photo of the incident involving Prosperous Armenia MP Sergey Bagratyan was recently published on the Facebook page of Vayots Dzor Deputy Governor Razmik Tonoyan.

Recall that the spokesperson for the Prosperous Armenia Party, Vanik Elizbaryan, informed NEWS.am that the information circulating in the media regarding the incident involving MP Sergey Bagratyan in Yeghegnadzor the day before does not correspond to reality.

Earlier, in an interview with the media, the head of the Yeghegnadzor police department, Lieutenant Colonel Armen Harutyunyan, stated that on April 27, during the Citizen's Day event in the city of Yeghegnadzor, police officers on duty prevented a brawl and took Vayots Dzor Deputy Governor Razmik Tonoyan and Armen Setrakyan, the administrative head of the Artabuynk community in the Yeghegis region, to the police station; however, Sergey Bagratyan was not taken to the station, as he is a member of the National Assembly.

According to Shamshyan.com, a call was received around 18:00 at the Yeghegnadzor police station from 38-year-old Razmik Tonoyan, a resident of Vayk city, who reported that around 16:30 the same day, during the Citizen's Day event on Shahumyan Street in Yeghegnadzor, he was approached by 56-year-old Sergey Bagratyan from Yerevan and 50-year-old Armen Setrakyan from the Yeghegis village, who displayed disrespectful behavior towards the public, shouted sexual insults at him, used indecent expressions, offended him, and attempted to attack him and hit him.
