Video: Merkel Forgot to Greet Theresa May in Berlin

The Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, did not greet UK Prime Minister Theresa May, who arrived in Berlin for Brexit negotiations.

“Traditionally, Merkel awaits important guests on the red carpet in front of her residence, but when May’s car approached, the chancellor was not there, and May went inside the building alone,” reports Politico.

After the Prime Minister entered the building, journalists followed her. A short time later, the two women came out together and shook hands in front of the cameras. The Bild newspaper reports that the chancellor apologized for her tardiness and asked to recreate May's arrival in front of the cameras.

The meeting lasted about 1.5 hours. As a result of the discussion, Merkel and May agreed that it is necessary to ensure an orderly withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union, according to an official spokesperson for May's office. The politicians also discussed the situations in Yemen and Libya.
