Resignation Following Interrogation and MPs' Visit to Artsakh

The newspaper "Haykakan Zhamanak" reports: Recently, the newspaper published the testimony of former president Serzh Sargsyan regarding the events of March 1. According to this, he confirmed that representatives of the Artsakh Defense Army were present in the government building during those days, stating that he had seen officers of the Artsakh Defense Army.

"I understood that there were also military units from Artsakh that came to Yerevan. I did not inquire about the need, purpose, or motives for their arrival," Sargsyan stated.

The newspaper inquired with Senor Hasratyan, the spokesperson of the Artsakh Defense Army, about what he knew regarding this matter. "I am not aware," Hasratyan said. We further asked whether troops had been brought from Artsakh to Armenia on March 1, 2008. "I have no information. I don't know what happened," he indicated.

It is noteworthy that yesterday, Samvel Karapetyan, the deputy commander of the Artsakh Defense Army, submitted his resignation following the questioning related to the March 1 case. Remarkably, he resigned after the visit of the MPs from the “My Step” faction to Artsakh.
