Red Berets Detain Employees of Lavash Restaurant Near Arame Club
The Investigation Department of the Central Division of the Police is preparing materials regarding the discovery of narcotics in Yerevan on April 2. Around 01:00, officers from the 3rd specialized battalion of the Patrol Police of Yerevan detained two individuals near the Arame club on Charents Street on suspicion of drug possession and use.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the detainees are 28-year-old Aram Abrahamyan, a resident of Yerevan, and 23-year-old Hrayer Stepanyan, a resident of Abovyan. Shamshyan reports that Stepanyan had in his possession a substance weighing a total of 2.85 grams in a cap. Stepanyan admitted that the substance was a narcotic and belonged to him for personal use. The investigator seized the drugs and ordered a forensic chemical examination. Both Hrayer Stepanyan and Aram Abrahamyan have been released.
According to Shamshyan's information, Aram Abrahamyan works as a bartender at the Lavash restaurant complex, while Hrayer Stepanyan works there as a bartender-waiter.
