Aliyev Had a Phone Conversation with Erdogan

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the victory of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in the local self-government elections held on March 31. This was reported by Ermenihaber.

During their phone conversation, the two presidents reaffirmed that Turkish-Azerbaijani relations will further develop and strengthen.

Despite the victory of the AKP, which formed an alliance with the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), they lost in several major cities, including Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.

According to preliminary results, the opposition Kemalist Republican People's Party (CHP) candidates won in these cities.
