"New War for New Territories: Nothing Will Be Given Up" - David Tonoyan

During a meeting with the Armenian community in New York, Armenia's Minister of Defense David Tonoyan commented on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, stating that the format of 'territories for peace' is being redefined. This was reported by 'Voice of America.'

As the Minister of Defense, I say that I have rephrased the 'territories for peace' format; we will do the opposite - 'new war for new territories,' he noted.

We will free ourselves from this trench warfare, from a constantly defensive position. We will increase the number of units capable of carrying military operations into enemy territory, Tonoyan added.

During the meeting with the Armenian community, the Minister also presented the current situation in the army. According to him, the rate of mortality in the military must be reduced in every possible way, although it cannot be completely eliminated: 'It is unavoidable; they are armed and young.'

Tonoyan emphasized the importance of fighting against criminal tendencies, one manifestation of which had been revealed in one of the military units in Meghri. 'They became so brazen in the unit that they were growing cannabis.'

Nothing will be given up. Compromises are possible, he stated.
