Major Accident: Vehicle Leaves the Road and Overturns on Vardenis-Sotk Highway
On March 30, at 18:45, emergency services received a call reporting that a vehicle had left the roadway and overturned near the railway on the Vardenis-Sotk highway in the Gegharkunik province; there are reported injuries. Assistance from rescuers is required.
A firefighting and rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations has been dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that at the 8th km of the Vardenis-Sotk section of the M-1 highway, close to the Shatvan community, an 'Opel Vectra' (driven by A.J., born in 1990) had left the roadway and overturned.
Prior to the arrival of rescuers, citizens managed to upright the vehicle, and passenger A.K. (born in 2009) was freed from the wreckage. Hospitalization was not deemed necessary.
Rescuers assisted the driver and brought him to an ambulance. He was hospitalized at the Vardenis military hospital, where doctors assessed his condition as satisfactory.
Rescuers also closed the valve of the gas cylinder and disconnected the vehicle's power supply.
