Pashinyan Forced to Personally Intervene: Plan B - 'Fact'
According to the 'Fact' newspaper, a session of the Governing Council of Yerevan State University will take place in mid-April, during which Aram Simonyan will be dismissed from the rector's position. During the last government meeting and in the National Assembly, the Prime Minister openly declared that 'such rectors' have no place in the new Armenia.
The 'Fact' newspaper reports that there are quite complex and deep issues at play, which is why Pashinyan has been compelled to personally 'intervene in the matter.' Initially, it was assured to Pashinyan that the issue of the rector would be resolved within the legal framework—with a criminal case, inspections from supervisory bodies, and so on. However, he was recently informed that there are actually no grounds for such actions, 'it's all just talk,' and in addition, the Governing Council is not even able to establish an agenda, thus making it impossible to remove the rector through legal regulations.
As a result, they have been forced to move to Plan B—politically removing the rector. For this purpose, according to our sources, efforts are currently underway to actively engage with the members of the Governing Council individually.
