Alen Simonyan Denies 'Fact' Newspaper's Claims About Pressure on the Press
The Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, has denied the information regarding the cleaning organization of the parliament belonging to his friend.
“Today, the ‘Fact’ newspaper has published another lie about me, alleging that I spoke with the custodians of the National Assembly because my friend’s company won the cleaning tender and that I even made calls in various places for this reason. Now, if I file a lawsuit or start ignoring this newspaper’s inquiries, they will claim that I am exerting pressure on the press,” Simonyan wrote on his Facebook page.
This same 'media outlet' recently exploited the death of my friend Mark Saghatelyan, who passed away years ago, to drive traffic to their site, stating, ‘The secret is revealed; who killed the actor?’ But the article only included an old video where a doctor mentioned that Mark was with them and in bad condition.
I do not know the owner or the director of the aforementioned cleaning organization; I know the custodians who reached out to me, and I tried to help them,” Simonyan stated.
It is noteworthy that today the ‘Fact’ newspaper published information claiming that a company belonging to Alen Simonyan's friend had won the competition to organize cleaning in the National Assembly. The newspaper indicated that this was the reason Simonyan was negotiating with the protesting custodians.
