Vladimir Gasparyan's Assets Seized as Legal Action Initiated Against Him
The property and accounts of former Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan and his family members have been subjected to a lien.
In August 2018, Hetq revealed how the former police chief acquired a $3 million villa for only $200,000 through several transactions. Following our publication, a criminal case was opened, which has not progressed since.
The former owner of the villa, Agasi Danielyan, filed a lawsuit in the general jurisdiction court of Yerevan after our report. He demanded payment of 900 million dram from Heghush Galstyan, the mother of Gasparyan's wife, for the villa he had sold, which he has yet to receive. Danielyan had sold the house to Galstyan but did not receive the payment. Subsequently, Galstyan defaulted on her banking obligations, leading the bank to auction the villa, which was acquired by Gasparyan's wife's relative and subsequently gifted to Gasparyan's son.
At the start of the court proceedings, Agasi Danielyan amended his claim to include the former police chief and his wife as defendants. Following this, Danielyan requested that a lien of 900 million dram be placed on the property and accounts of Gasparyan's family members. The court granted this request, and the enforcement authority has initiated proceedings, placing the mentioned individuals' accounts and properties under lien. These include the villa registered in the name of Vladimir Gasparyan’s son, a villa located on the shores of Lake Sevan, and real estate in Jerevan.
Also under lien are Vladimir Gasparyan's Mercedes Benz S450 4MATIC and VAZ-21013 vehicles, as well as his bank accounts. Furthermore, a property on Tumanyan Street in Yerevan belonging to his wife, Susanna Gasparyan, a plot of land in Nor Karim, a house in Katnikhbyur, a plot in Ejmiatsin, and a vehicle of the IZH-2715 model are also encumbered. A lien has also been placed on Susanna Gasparyan's accounts. Agasi Danielyan has also filed lawsuits against businesspersons Silva Hambarzumyan and Albert Yeritsyan, associated with the villa transaction.
