The Noose Around Former MP Mihran Poghosyan Is Tightening: 'Zhoghovurd'

'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports: The noose around former MP Mihran Poghosyan, former head of the Anti-Corruption Committee and member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, is tightening. According to information from 'Zhoghovurd', an investigation is underway at the Special Investigative Service regarding the auction of the 'Bjni' mineral water factory, and authorities are trying to determine the whereabouts of the 4 billion drams that were paid for the sale of the factory.

Recall that back in 2009, when there was a political motive to seize business from the Sukiasyans, the 'Bjni Mineral Water Factory' LLC was put up for auction by the Anti-Corruption Committee, and according to the company, the entire process was marred by procedural violations.

In a conversation with 'Zhoghovurd', the company’s lawyer Ara Zohrapyan recalled that following the revelations of this story, the auction was declared void, and until the decision came into effect, the money was returned in cash to the buyer.

And the buyer, it should be noted, was the former president of the Football Federation of Armenia, Ruben Hayrapetyan, who ultimately purchased the factory and has been managing it ever since.
