Parliament Rejects Agenda Inclusion of Labor Unions Bill

The Armenian Parliament has rejected the inclusion of a bill to amend the Law on Labor Unions on March 26, with 41 votes in favor and 75 votes against. The bill was initiated by Gevorg Petrosyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia party, according to a correspondent from NEWS.am.

It should be noted that the bill had received negative conclusions from both the government and the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs.

Petrosyan reiterated that there is no intention to harm the activities of labor unions, explaining that the current functioning of labor unions requires significant changes aimed at improving their efficiency.
