If Proven, I Will Resign: Valery Osipyan
“I called Boris Muraziy, the editor-in-chief of the Politik.am website, to ask why he published unverified information,” said Armenian Chief of Police Valery Osipyan during a conversation with reporters today.
“The police issued a statement about this matter. I personally invited him and spoke with him. He mentioned on his Facebook page that he did not receive any threats from the chief of police,” he noted.
Osipyan emphasized that he calls many journalists, and many journalists also call him. He asserted that he did not speak to Boris Muraziy in a threatening tone; he merely asked why he published unverified information.
“I officially declare that Narek Sargsyan did not call me; if that is proven, I am ready to resign from my position,” he concluded.
Regarding the extradition of Narek Sargsyan, the son of Alexander Sargsyan, from Prague, he stated that the police have fulfilled their duties. “The rest is not in our field,” he noted. When asked which field he referred to, he declined to answer.
