35 Tons of Cargo, 99 Soldiers: Russian Military Arrives in Venezuela
Russian military personnel and aircraft carrying 35 tons of cargo, specifically An-124 and Il-62 planes, have arrived at the Maiketia International Airport serving Caracas. This was reported by the TASS agency, citing local sources.
It is noted that the group consists of 99 soldiers, led by Colonel-General Vasily Tonkoshkurov, head of the organizational department of the Russian Armed Forces General Command. They were welcomed by Edgar Colina Reyes, a representative of the Venezuelan National Guard, and members of the Russian diplomatic mission in Caracas.
According to Venezuelan sources, the aircraft made two stops en route to Venezuela, in Damascus and Dakar.
