‘There are 50 parasites... assign one of them to deal with it’ - Citizen to H. Marutyan

During a clean-up day in Yerevan, a citizen approached Mayor Hayk Marutyan and expressed dissatisfaction with the city's administration.

“You have organized receptions at the mayor's office twice, but I couldn't participate because when I contact the mayor's office, they say I need to apply through the website. I don't understand, does this person not have a website or a computer? There are 50 parasites there... I don’t want to talk about these issues now; assign one of them to address citizen inquiries,” said the citizen, noting that the person seeking assistance is an 80-year-old woman who does not understand how to use a computer.

“How is an 80-year-old woman supposed to navigate the website? They don’t take phone calls; they say you have to go on the website,” the citizen complained.

The mayor responded by stating they can apply via phone, and the mayor's spokesperson Hakob Karapetyan added that they can also write letters. “My dear friend, don’t read nonsense, we write letters, and they hide the letters, make them disappear, and take no action,” he emphasized.

Marutyan assured that he would definitely meet with the citizen and instructed Hakob Karapetyan to address the matter.
