Termination of the Contract with Sanitek Will Lead to Large Fines and Penalties
Of course, we consider the cleanliness of the city to be insufficient, said Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan during a conversation with journalists. He noted that they are making remarks to the Sanitek company.
"Every day, the municipal department sends evidence and photographs of the mistakes that need to be corrected. To be honest, up until now, there has been no noticeable change, but of course, it is not enough," he said.
Regarding the involvement of another operator, the mayor stated that in order to engage a second operator, they need to terminate the contract with the current operator.
"But there is also a problem here; if we terminate the contract, the municipality will have to pay large fines and penalties, and therefore, we need to follow the procedures properly to make it happen," he said.
When asked about the issue of trash disposal pipes in high-rise buildings, especially during the summer months, and what actions are being taken in this direction, Hayk Marutyan mentioned that the issue of closing the trash pipes falls within the residents' domain, and they can only be closed with the residents' agreement.
Initiated by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development, a nationwide clean-up day is being held today across the entire country as part of the "Clean Armenia" program.
