A Veto Has Been Placed on the Proposal of a Russia-Based Businessman to Become the 4th Operator in Telecommunications
Russia-based Armenian businessman Arthur Yerznkyan had intended to invest $200 million in the telecommunications and communications sector to become the fourth operator, committing to making these services extremely affordable for consumers, and even free for residents of border communities.
However, Minister Hakob Arshakyan has placed a veto on the businessman's investment program, stating that it would not only harm the other three operators but also would not be beneficial for the investor.
This is why Armenia continues to be the last country in the region in terms of the volume of investments, significantly lagging behind Azerbaijan and Georgia in this regard,” writes the newspaper “Zhamanak.”
