SSS Director Assures That Eavesdropping Devices Will Not Be Imported to Armenia

I assure you that such devices can no longer be imported to the Republic of Armenia, as the import of such devices is legally prohibited.

This was stated today in the National Assembly by the Director of the National Security Service, Artur Vanetsyan, while addressing the question regarding whether oligarchs and certain state departments possess eavesdropping devices in Armenia.

“Only those entities that carry out operational intelligence activities have the authority to import such devices. The individuals who need to import them will not be allowed to do so, neither by customs control nor by our oversight,” Vanetsyan said.
