Materials Prepared for Falsifying 1998 Presidential Elections: Special Investigation Service

The Special Investigation Service is preparing materials regarding the episode of falsifying the presidential elections of 1998, according to the spokesperson of the SIS, Marina Ohanyan.

According to her, the materials are being prepared based on one of the episodes from the recent open letter published by Vahan Shirkhanyan.

As previously reported, former deputy defense minister Vahan Shirkhanyan had published an open letter addressed to the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, in which he presented a number of accusations, including references to the October 27 incidents and the falsification of the presidential elections.

Marina Ohanyan noted that the other episodes of the letter fall outside the jurisdiction of the SIS.
