Manvel Grigoryan's Defense Files Complaint with European Court of Human Rights
The defense team of former MP and Lieutenant General Manvel Grigoryan has submitted a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights, which has already been registered. This information was provided to 'Pastinfo' by Grigoryan's lawyer, Arsen Mkrtchyan. According to him, the European court has begun proceedings and has sent questions regarding the case to them. 'We have sent our responses today, and we believe that inquiries will soon be sent to the state as well. Accordingly, we will wait for the appropriate decision,' he said.
Arsen Mkrtchyan also does not rule out that domestic courts may reach a just interim decision.
The defense has repeatedly raised concerns about Manvel Grigoryan's health condition, stating that the conditions of the detention facility do not allow for adequate medical care, resulting in a deterioration of his health. According to Mkrtchyan, his health condition is currently assessed as very serious.
It is noteworthy that just days ago, the court granted the Special Investigative Service's request to extend Grigoryan's detention for another two months. The lawyer stated that they will appeal this decision, but it is still unknown when, as they have not yet received a decision on accepting the case for proceedings. 'The judge, who is typically assigned to the case, has an inclination towards the prosecution, so it is natural that all detention orders and extensions will be approved,' he added.
