Driver Robs Janitor's House in Kajaran, Theft Exceeds 3 Million Drams

As per the decision of the investigator of the Syunik regional investigative department of the Investigation Committee of Armenia, Arthur Hovsepyan, a 34-year-old resident of Kajaran, has been chosen a preventive measure of not leaving his residence on signature.

On February 28, a criminal case was initiated against A. Hovsepyan under Article 177, Part 3, Clause 1.1 of the RA Criminal Code. That day, Narine Barseghyan, a 44-year-old resident of a building on Shahumyan Street in Kajaran, reported to the Kapan police that between 7:30 PM on the previous day and 12:15 AM on February 28, an unknown individual or individuals had entered her apartment by unlocking the door and stolen 3 million 750 thousand drams from her bedroom wardrobe.

Suspected of committing the theft, A. Hovsepyan was taken to the Kapan police station. He confessed to the crime and pointed out the location where he had hidden the stolen money.

According to the source, the victim, N. Barseghyan, works as a janitor at the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine, while A. Hovsepyan works there as a driver of a converter vehicle.
