Witness in Former Italian Prime Minister's Case Poisoned with Radioactive Materials

Preliminary reports suggest that Moroccan dancer Iman Fadil, who held the status of a witness in the case against former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, died as a result of poisoning from radioactive substances. This was reported by the Italian ANSA agency, citing the Italian prosecutor's office.

It is worth recalling that in 2013, Berlusconi was sentenced to 7 years in prison for having sexual relations with an underage prostitute. Berlusconi hosted parties with prostitutes at his villa in Milan. In 2014, the former prime minister's defense team managed to overturn the verdict; however, shortly after, the prosecutor's office launched an investigation against him again. This time, Berlusconi was accused of bribing witnesses for false testimonies.

Iman Fadil was one of the witnesses in the new case. According to The Times, Fadil was set to reveal that Berlusconi had paid large sums of money to women who worked at his parties in exchange for their silence. He also allegedly paid guests of the parties to remain silent. Investigative reports indicate that around 10 million euros were spent for this purpose.

Fadil was hospitalized on January 29, but the 34-year-old woman passed away on March 1.
