Former President of Armenia to Remain in Prison for Two More Months

The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction has granted the request of the Special Investigation Service, extending the detention period of the former President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, for an additional two months.

"Essentially, the grounds for the criminal case under Article 300.1 are based on four other judicial acts that still exist, which confirm the reasonable suspicion. The court noted that it has ruled out the possibility of hiding, meaning the sole basis is that we are currently in the phase of familiarizing with the materials. It is assessed that there is a risk of influencing the case," said Aram Orbelyan, one of Kocharyan's defense attorneys, in a conversation with journalists today.
