Details Emerge on Armenian Inscriptions Found on Terrorists' Weapons

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia is in contact with the authorities of New Zealand. This was announced by the Armenian Foreign Ministry in response to a query by Armpress regarding whether Armenian relevant bodies have paid attention to the fact that the weapons used by assailants in the mosque attacks in New Zealand bore inscriptions in various languages, including Armenian.

'We are in contact with the relevant authorities in New Zealand regarding all issues related to the incident,' noted the spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, Anna Naghdalyan.

Among the inscriptions is the Battle of Sarıkamış (one of the largest military clashes between the Russian and Ottoman empires during World War I, occurring from December 22, 1914, to January 17, 1915, and ending with a victory for the Russians).

The name of Milos Obilic (the Serbian national hero who killed Sultan Murad I at the Battle of Kosovo) is also mentioned, as well as the Battle of Vienna in 1683, which marked the end of the Ottoman Empire's advancement.

Additionally, the name of British Admiral Edward Codrington, who led British, Russian, and French fleets to victory against Turkish forces at the Battle of Navarino in 1827, is noted.

The death toll from the shootings at mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, has reached 49, with 41 killed at the Al Noor mosque and another seven at the Linwood mosque.
